“March 1, 2019 Our home was flooded by 4 feet of water during Hurricane Harvey in 2017. We contracted with Kavia Homes for the reconstruction, and were very pleased with their performance. Our home is a quality custom home, and our goal was to maintain it’s distinctive qualities while updating the interior design. The first step was interior demolition, then communicating with the flood insurance representatives. Jeremy provided invaluable assistance in this process, personally negotiating with the insurance adjuster to insure maximum payment. As the project proceeded, Kavia advised us on materials (Countertops; quartzite vs quartz: Floors; wood vs porcelain tile etc) to achieve both durability and style. They also recommended which vendors we should shop to get wide selection and to get pricing that would keep us within the contract allowances for each category. All of the workmanship was first rate. The cabinets were custom built on site and it was a joy to watch the finish carpenters at work. My wife would show them a picture of Pinterest of a closet or kitchen design feature and ask “can you build this?” and the answer was always “yes”. Certainly the biggest challenge was the shortage of tradesman and supplies after a citywide event like Harvey. Kavia did not lower their standards and install inferior materials or use unskilled workers; this was a major problem for other flood victims I know. I appreciated the abililty to communicate with Jeremy; if ever I had a question or concern, I could text him and receive a same day reply. Our home is now completely renovated, and it’s beautiful. And, it was all accomplished, spending only the proceeds of the floor insurance policy. Thank you Kavia Homes!”
